Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Brown the ground beef and sliced onion in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain excess grease.
Add garlic, paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir and cook for 1 minute.
In a bowl, whisk together the beef broth, sour cream, and melted butter.
Arrange half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half of the beef mixture. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and beef.
Pour the broth mixture evenly over the casserole.
Cover tightly with foil and bake for 45 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
Remove the foil and sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the top.
Bake uncovered for another 10–15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
Let the casserole rest for 5–10 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
