Ingredients

  • Ingredients
  • 1 package frozen garlic toast slices about 8 slices
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup mini pepperoni
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Optional Toppings
  • Cooked crumbled Italian sausage
  • Diced bell peppers
  • Sliced mushrooms
  • Black olives
  • Diced red onion
  • Cooked bacon
  • Fresh basil
  • Red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Preheat oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Arrange garlic toast: Place the frozen garlic toast slices in a single layer on the baking sheet. Do not thaw.
  • Add sauce: Spread about 1–2 tablespoons of pizza sauce over each garlic toast slice, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Add cheese: Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over each slice, followed by a little Parmesan.
  • Add toppings: Top with mini pepperoni and any additional toppings you like.
  • Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the garlic toast are golden and crisp.
  • Finish: Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and let cool for 2–3 minutes before serving.
  • Serve: Serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping, if desired.

Notes

  • Use frozen garlic toast slices, not plain toast, for the intended garlic-butter flavor.
  • Don't overload the toast with sauce or toppings, as too much moisture can make it soft.
  • Keep toppings finely chopped so they cook evenly.
  • For extra-browned cheese, broil for 30–60 seconds, watching carefully.
  • Let children choose and add their own toppings for a fun family dinner activity.
